Some Tips and Suggestions
Tip:
Patience and Love are the two most important elements in any relationship with a dog, and I might say this with people as well.
Tip:
(In buying a new dog...) I would venture to say that selection of a new dog based on temperament and intelligence far supersedes selection of a dog by breed, size or color. And so in considering the dog for your family, I would make a strong recommendation to investigate the overviews of personalities in the prospective breeds that you are considering.
Tip:
(In buying a new dog...) ...I strongly recommend staying away from backyard breeders... ...staying away from what are known as puppymills... and pedigrees should be examined to prevent breeding into a line that might carry hereditary or congenital illnesses. Always deal with a breeder who is deeply concerned about where the puppy will be living, what type of family environment the puppy will be exposed to, and how much time you will have to spend with the puppy.
